Conventional digital radiographs are great for detecting minor decay and generally assessing the overall condition of a tooth and bone, but sometimes more information is required. The fact still remains that assessments of a 3-D structures like the mouth and teeth are being assessed by a 1 dimensional x-ray. Cone beam radiographs take a 3-D scan of your mouth and allow Drs. Fitton and May to gather the maximum amount of information about the mouth to provide the best possible care to our patients. The Focused-Field nature of the 3-D scan provides a high resolution 3-d picture, with a low exposure dose for the patient. These scans are extremely important for many areas of dentistry, including implant dentistry and endodontics. Drs. Fitton and May are extremely excited to offer this service to patients.
